Predator

Predator, a fictional character created somewhat 20 years ago for a movie title ‘predator’ struck my mind as I always love this brutal violent and cruel character that runs around killing people and skinning them alive by hanging them up side down the ceiling and trees.

I find this creature a bit of heroic and super villain, which makes this creation a neutral role.

Well… perhaps it’s its high-tech weapons that attracts me… okay, okay, it’s its exotic weapon that attracts me most. Predator is always equipped with shoulder plasma canon, Re-callable disc, spear gun, heat tracking mask, plasma pistol, and etc.

I watched the first predator movie cast by Arnold Schwarzenegger and some other macho man as soldiers doing some mission in jungle when i was in high school, and then watched the following Predator 2 movie, which was shot in year 1990, story about this super-human-like creature lurking in New York City.

Kevin Peter Hall (Behind)

Out of curiosity, I went google about the person behind thie mask of Predator. The man who played the first predator was Kevin Peter Hall. Surprisingly, he was also in the role of my childhood TV show call ‘Harry and the Hendersons’, he played the Big Foot. Remember the charming Big Foot? Yeah, that’s him. He’s very tall, inherited by genes from his parents, measure at 6′5″ in height.

Well, it beings brings a lot of old memories, the time when I was in high school, the first Alien VS Predator PC game was out in year 1999. I had it installed in to 8 computers in my school’s computer lab hidden in some secret folders, and can only be found by a few of us, Big Fans of predator! It was great memory to remember we always take some time off after school and play at least 3 hours of aliens and predator fighting. So much of having a 24 networked PCs computer lab for education, now that’s what I call ‘Education’! LOL

So, back to the search of Kevin Peter Hall. Unfortunately, he passed way in year 1991, Some time after the the Predator 2 was complete.

I really love the Predator character from the movie, and by learning from a few biography of Kevin from the net, it is recorded that he created the modern character of Predator today. The early design of Predator from the FX designers was totally different from what we see on screen today. Thanks to Kevin Peter Hall, he added Tribal dance movement in Predator actions, which made the character looks even cooler and he was also a professional in martial arts, making Predator looks even more threatening than ever even to Arnold in the first movie.
